Enough already with this rain! Great for the rebloomers but sure has
played havoc with the apples. Put the last of the crop by today, 50
pints of applesauce. Earlier, the 15 inches from Floyd cracked all
the Mutsu's, made peeling difficult. All I have to do now is pot up a
flat leaf parsley and get it in the basement.
The rain has clearly identified those iris with a proclivity to rot.
Erwinia carotovraa aka Southern blight, mustard seed fungus, crown
rot, turnip rot, etc., etc., has been running rampant. Have to take a
real good look at a cultivar and say, "Are you worth an expensive
drench of Terraclor?"
