Christmas came early this year!
Peeking from beneath the Gypsophila and Campanula is the first I.
unguicularis, Christmas Iris, bloom of the season in our garden. This is
the earliest yet we've ever seen this plant bloom here on Puget Sound,
Washington.
Our goal was to have some iris blooming in every month of the year. Now
we have overlapping annual seasons <g>? This year's reblooming (TB)
Immortality has resumed blooming with high 60 degree F. weather this
week, and the 1999-2000 (SPEC) unguicularis has already joined the parade
in October. It was last seen blooming in April.
