Hello everyone,
I will describe my project and see if anyone can offer some helpful
suggestions on the companions
to my selected irises. First I have already gotten some bulbs including
Dutch Iris, I. reticulata, and
I. danfordiae as well as two rhizomes of dwarf bearded irises. I have
already planted one Butterfly
Iris in the rock garden bed. I also have various daffodils, and some lily,
and hyacinth bulbs that I was
going in plant in that garden as companions. Will these plants "play nice"
together and how
crowded can they be?
Remember that I live in Houston, TX (in Alief actually in the Western
portion) which is in USDA
zone 8b/9a TX Gulf Coast. I am going to add some more garden bed space for
Louisiana Irises
and other bulb plants such as Day lilies and Agapanthus. How will these
work as companions?
