The bottom-ranked TB's would be voted off. These are not necessarily the
worst growers, as we all know.

No argument.
But which TBs are inferior and which non-TBs are superior does vary from
climate to climate, to some (often great) extent.

Of course, the best source for a want list is seeing the iris grow in a
garden in the same climate/micro-climate/soil.
And obviously, a TB Symposium does not help very much in choosing
Siberians.
But other than a regional break-down of Symposium votes (and I hope each
regional bulletin prints its own) I know of no better single source for
a TB want list than the Symposium winners (not ballot).
I know I have bought a few iris I was not familiar with because they
were listed, and have been pleased.

Yes. I am enjoying all the postings. Comments range from change nothing
to change everything, with each particular especially liked by some and
detested by others. Summarizing will be a challenge.
