Right now the variegation on pallida VARIEGATA (the one commonly called
"Zebra") is nearly pure white here, though it has a distinctly yellow cast
in the spring. The variegation on pallida ARGENTEA is always a clean chalky
white with never any hint of yellow in it, though the leaves do have a
transient pbf in the spring (there is never any hint of pbf in VARIEGATA).
VARIEGATA has TB stalks and flowers; ARGENTEA has the characteristics of an
MTB.
Of course, the flower color of a cultivar can vary from one location to
another; the same might be true with leaf variegation.
