We grow may different varieties of tulips without even lifting them, and
they flower well. This winter would be one of the mildest we've had, as
we've had very few frosts because of constant damp and yet they're coming
into flower. Maybe bloom a little short but thats all.
Anywhere zone 8 or below should be able to grow them easily, so long as you
lift them if you have damp summers.
