Walter, I don't argue with this at all. Any variety can bloom differently
across town or down the block. I gave up on BEST BET because, after the
first season, it always seemed to get bit by a late frost. I had the same
problem with many of its children.
When I lived at Alvaton and had lots of space, I planted registered
rebloomers in a 5 X 60 foot bed so I could treat them all the same (nearly).
One observation I made was that this bed burst into bloom a week before the
oncer beds on either side. Also, my seedlings, mainly rebloom heritage, are
among the first to bloom here. I could always count on having something for
an early show, but little or nothing for a late show. As a result, I have a
tendency to equate rebloom with early bloom, from which the comment was
based.
EARL OF ESSEX is trooper here. SUGAR BLUES, FEEDBACK, and VIOLET RETURNS
were, also, unbeatable at Alvaton, giving rebloom when nothing much would.
