I haven't had the nerve to ask for replacements for dead or dying
rhizomes. Too difficult to prove that the vendor is at fault when I
have the nickname of Rot Queen.

But I have had bad experiences with two different iris growers that sent
mislabeled rhizomes, neither the one in the most recent thread. The
first one argued with me that the pale cream colored iris that they sent
was indeed TANYA (a very dark variegata - gold over black red) and would
not send a replacement. The other said that it couldn't be anything
other than what they said they sent me, but they would send a
replacement the following year with my next order. Needless to say, I
haven't bought anything from either of these places since and similarly,
haven't bought or grown any of their introductions. One of these places
was in Missouri, the other in either Texas or Oklahoma.

On a much more positive note, Ginny Spoon at Winterberry Gardens not
only sent me a replacement, but went to the trouble of figuring out he
name of the one they mistakenly sent the year before.
