Rebloom

Nice to hear about everyone's bloom/rebloom.

Since I didn't get fertilizing done this year, tho rainfall was plentiful, mostly, I don't have much reblooming. A stalk of Baby Blessed and one on Zurich, with buds forming on several other things. (Everything in the 4 X 40 rebloom bed was replanted last year, and grew so prodigously that crowding and subsequent rot has been a problem, so I didn't expect much rebloom.)

What I have is a question--I found (and crushed!) 9 count-them-9 !!! corn-earworm beetles (those green things that look like ladybugs but aren't even gentlemanly) in the one open blossom on Zurich, which had merrily munched great holes out of it. What, if anything, do you do to control them? (There are no cornfields here in the suburbs of St. Louis, but they've always been a problem on iris, cannas and dahlias in the fall.)

Zone 6 north, where recent rains enabled me to take out 2 trees, get tilling done, and finish planting LAs. Now to move the heeled- in MTBs to the bed I'm doubling in size (now that I've finally moved 6 peonies and a dozen daylilies etc. etc. to make room...)
