Thank you. That such monstrous actions by a few have such enormous
consequences for so many compounds the problem far beyond the action alone.
The resulting fear, anger and distrust that such actions engender spread
into areas where it is unjustified, making it harder and harder to break out
of the vicious circle. It is really too bad the focus of the perpetrators
didn't find an outlet like the irises or something else that would engage
their minds towards something other than an obsession that causes so much
harm in so many ways - far beyond the immediate tragic loss. It makes me
grateful for the many people everywhere whose concerns are rather more
ordinary. But we all, everyone, everywhere, are likely to feel the ripples
in one way or another. That is too bad.
