Brown recluse spider/ Siberian Iris

My cousin picked up some old newspapers in his yard this summer and was 
bitten by the brown recluse spider.  He lost his finger and into his hand 
because of it. Since then, I have been trying to remember to wear gloves.

Have any of you Iris people been successful in growing SIBERIAN Irises in 
pots?
