Re: grass and weeds in iris

For a Post-emergent grass killer use any agent with Poast as the main
ingredient. I found it works better with a spreader sticker. I have
never had any impact on iris.

For weeds, pre-emergent is the best approach. I have used Amaze,
Surflan liquid and Preen. Amaze and Preen are easier as they are
granular. Water in well. Surflan requires an inch of water to
activiate the chemical. None get 100% coverage.

I use a post-emergent weed killer for isolated weeds. I cut out the
bottom of coffee can or flower pot and place over the weed and spray
with a bottle spray. The can contains the spray. I keep a spray
bottle of water to remove any overspray, but seldom need it.
