I have used both. They will not hurt her daylilies unless she is planting
seeds.
The Treflan I use is liquid and lasts longer than Preen. They are, of course,
both preemergence and will not kill any perennial weeds. She'll need to use
something else for that. I use Basagran and as a last resort Roundup (very
carefully).
