Yup, lots of squirrels here on Long Island this year. We have drought
conditions here. I fed the squirrels and birds hulled sunflower seeds and
provided fresh water on a daily basis. I planted irises in July, they didn't
bother them. In August I planted more irises that were treated with Dial. The
squirrels turned over, uprooted 2 but, didn't eat them. Then suddenly, the
squirrels disappeared. I, too, was concerned when saw the 2 irises dug up. I
am pretty sure there is a device (sonic) that emits high pitch sounds that
deters squirrels but does not effect birds or dogs.
