Hi all
My apologies for forgetting that you wouldn't have made sense of my post
with out the reason for the iris shift :( and the resultant confusion.
Ok a brief outline as to the reasons :
I had / have 12 large clumps of iris planted around the my swimming pool
surrounds and i have noticed that they have " lost colour " bleached out
to some very nasty looking muddy greys and blah creams and a horrid
mauve/red .. so I asked the chatters on Friday night what they thought was
the best course of action as there were some very knowledgeable names present.
The conclusion was :
I decided to shift half of each clump to a " perfect iris growing
location" and compare the differences over the coming flowering season
Gerry and Dave asked if it was possible could check the soil PH and the CF
( nutrients value ) as well as they were curious and post the results.
I did the soil temperatures just cos my "whizzy do" PH tester does it
automatically.
So I am now awaiting the all important flowering etc. ready to photograph
and document the results.
I hope this explains what i was talking about. again I am sorry for the
confusion I created ...
