Hello to the list again. We've been gone 3 weeks, so I turned off my iris-talk indiv. mail for that period. Facing 100s of messages when I got home was a prospect I didn't care to tackle. Anyway, while on the vacation tour I met people from Austin, TX, who are interested in iris and to whom I want to send some rhizomes next year. The question I have is, "What's the proper time and procedure?" Here in NW Iowa I dig and replant anytime in July, but I'm pretty sure, from what some of you have written, that that isn't a good time to be planting in Austin. So what should I and/or my new friends do? Do I dig at my normal time, tell them to pot and put in the shade for a while? Or something else? If any of you live, or have lived, in that area and have dealt with shipments from the north, I'm sure you can tell me what to do. Thanks in advance.
