CULT: bloomout

Hi List Mates,

Has anyone ever tried plant growth hormones on the bloomed out rhizomes to encourage new growth? I'm thinking that perhaps pricking the rhizomes with a needle coated with hormones might induce the old rhizomes to pump out some new increases. I use it for orchid and African violet propagation. Here is a web page I put together to demonstrate its use in propagating chimera African violets:

I wonder if the same technique would work on iris rhizomes. Any thoughts on this?

Lord of Letters (Blyth 200/2001) had bloomed out for me, although 2 or 3 small hard (bloomed) rhizomes remained with no leaves or increase.
