CULT: TB: survivors - Schreiner intros

Remember the photo I posted last spring of the short row of new to me
Schreiner intros?

The two that have grown extremely well here, very healthy & robust, are
AVALON SUNSET and RIP CITY. Unfortunately, bloom was frozen out on RIP
CITY, but in less spring freeze prone locations, this one will be a
winner. AVALON SUNSET has smallish flowers that were prone to being
beaten up pretty badly by all the rain this spring, but it bloomed like
crazy. Definitely another good one.

Semi-duds that bloomed - BOLD FASHION - I really like the gaudy, huge,
blowsey blooms & multiple stalks on this one, but it wasn't very well
anchored (roots not as robust as stalks) & hasn't done well. Looks like
it's another flash in the pan here like SEAKIST, but at least I got pods
& pollen from SEAKIST that first year. Not so with BF. SO FINE,
SUNSHINE AND SNOW, both bloomed well, nice flowers, even got some viable
pollen from SO FINE, but neither has done all that well thru the growing
season. These two may go on to do ok here - hard to say. MARIAH had
late freeze stunted stalks. Not a keeper.

Semi-duds that didn't bloom - SILVERADO, SWEETER THAN WINE. I've grown
what I think is SILVERADO for years, but was never sure (it was a club
sale plant), so I ordered the real thing from the source. Just as poor
as the one I already had - no bloom, poor growth. SWEETER THAN WINE may
go on to bloom some day, but bloom was frozen out this spring - not a
good sign, since this was an unusually mild and easy spring for most of
my irises. Plus it looks pretty puny.

The good news? They all are alive! Not a complete dud in the lot.

Trying to decide whether or not to do another last minute order this
year....
