No magic temperatures, I think; just rapidly dropping probabilities of
success.  I don't try too many rebloom crosses (less roughly simultaneous
bloom = less chance of a synergistically appealing cross), but a couple took
last year, and we don't have freeze problems to interfere.

  remember Lloyd Zurbrigg saying he had done this and dug the whole plant
  before hard freezes to bring indoors to finish maturing.

  Do daytime temperatures have to stay below the magic 80oF threshold in
  order to set seed, or does the temperature just have to be below 80 at
  the time the cross is made?
