Funny that "Willow Water" is a known phrase.
I registered an iris as 'Willow Water' in 1967 thinking I had invented an
unlikely phrase. The flower was blue (of course) with touches of that elusive
aqua that shows up in some rare varieties. It was a seedling from (Chivalry x
New Snow) X Oceanic, the latter being a Suiter ultra-wide blue from (Sun Lakes
X Blue Rhythm).
I'm sorry to say that the cv no longer is extant--when I left Idaho in 1981 it
ceased to exist. I had decided against its introduction, as the flower was
not quite up to expectations.
If I ever get a good blue of that type again I might transfer the name....but
one would not be surprised to hear I did a double take when this subject tag
came up.
