Re: HYB: REF: Blyth, umbrata, WINE AND ROSES

Maybe not - the pedigree on Mike's World of Iris webite shows I.
variegata in the pedigree of both parents of PRAIRIE SUNSET by way of
RAMESES, if you go back far enough.

The photo of RAMESES shows the umbrata overlay on the falls really well

KING TUT might be also - hard to tell for sure from the photo.

I don't know DOLLY or MOROCCO ROSE.

Neil, how do you know the lines Hall was working with - from memory or
do you have a reference? I have seen several items for sale by HIPs re:
Hall hybridizing, & have wondered if I might oughta should buy them for
winter fun.

<I wonder where the Umbrata comes from in WINE AND ROSES. None of the
primary roots of the Hall line have it--MOROCCO ROSE, PRAIRIE SUNSET,
DOLLY MADISON and so on. There must be some others mixed in, as "from
similar seedlings" is a bit ambiguous (tongue in cheek).>

Looks like Ivan is taking a bead on Asheville again. Or maybe my house
this time.
