Yes, Ellen, I live in coastal SC. We probably won't have temps at freezing in 
October, but it is possible that it could occur this early. I *believe* that 
last year we had a really cold spell earlier than normal, before Halloween. 

I appreciate all of your advice. I am really anticipating what the spring 
will bring!
