I can't recall having dissected a flower to examine this type of dual beard in detail, but the ones I've noted are so obvious that they scream "LOOK AT ME!!!!!"  The two beards may differ in type of individual beard hairs, distribution, color, or all three.  For example, a flower may have a central dark, bushy beard flanked by a sparse yellow one.
