Ellen, I'll have to send you a piece of 'Firestorm' next year.  You'll 
like that one.  The jury's still out on 'Starwoman' since its first 
winter here had good snow cover.  The test will be to see if she can 
survive northern MN temps in a low-snowfall year.

In 'Muse's' defense, I acquired it in '02 then replanted it in '03 when I 
renovated its bed, so the poor thing hasn't had a chance to really settle 
in yet.  Hopefully I'll get to finally see it bloom next year.

I definitely believe your increased precipitation in all seasons accounts 
for much of the substantial difference in our respective 
successes/failures with irises.  I also think the fact that your summer 
temps don't soar to midwestern heights must play a part in there 
somewhere.

BTW, I'll definitely come begging for a piece of the setosa next spring.  
I managed to kill mine, doggone it (but am soooo glad I sent you a piece 
before I did)!
