< What do you consider so special about Renown? Char, New Berlin, WI>
Breeding potential?
Like so many of Lloyd Zurbrigg's introductions, it has excellent disease
resistance here. I say resistance rather than tolerance because the
foliage stays healthy looking, rather than thriving in spite of
disease. I don't think it's quite as good as VIOLET MIRACLE and HARVEST
OF MEMORIES, but still is excellent.
It blooms (or tries to) several times in one season.
Blooms seem to have pretty good substance, especially for a rebloomer
that will perform here.
Nice wide falls.
Although it looks more or less white, I'm assuming it doesn't have a
quadruple dose of dominant white or the lavender tint wouldn't be there,
so it can hopefully breed something more interesting than white
children.
