You know, it continues to surprise me that more hybridizers don't take advantage of what seems to me to be the most obviously successful marketing device for their irises. Many, many people purchase irises which carry the names of themselves or loved ones. As boring a proposition as it may be, I would think that referencing the current lists of most popular baby names and using those names as iris names would insure increased sales both immediately and in the future as gardeners add plants to their gardens in memorium of passed loved ones for generations to come.

I have to wonder how many rzs would sell of, say, EMILY'S EYES or JACOB'S GIFT. Lots, I'd bet.
