Marvelous! I shot a little note off to Edinger, Keppel, and Mahan and
received the following precis from the former in response. I think it is very
enlightening.

"I have a copy of their 1956 catalog--Franklin Gardens--and it features eight
dwarf introductions credited to Vivian plus a TB (actually BB) diploid
credited to Hazel. The listing is extensive and eclectic: dwarfs(lots, both pumila &
lutescens types), "bearded iris, miscellaneous," aril-median hybrids, MTBs
(as Table Iris), Siberians, Spurias, Iris missouriensis selections, and a
largely antique assortment of TB/IB/Rebloomers."

Thank you everyone, for all your help and kind support. I feel I learned
something new and interesting today, and I hope you feel the same.
