I'm sorry that was not clear.  Try this.

Treat when you plant, again in October and then in
the spring when the Iris START to grow.  This way
you do not have more than a 6 month gap between
treatments.  Be sure to get the long term White
Grub Control.

Char, do you really wait until late October to
plant bearded irises in Wisconsin? What USDA Zone
are you in? We have to plant  bearded iris in
August (preferably July) here. Apogons
(beardless) have to be planted in August to take
root before the September frost.
