Linda,
I am growing about three dozen relatively recent
introductions from these hybridizers. The more recent
intros from Ghio and Keppel generally have done
noticeably better than their earlier ones here. Of the
most recent ones I have, the following have done the
best (minimum two year's performance):
ADOREGON (Keppel, '04): lilac-blue reverse bitone
AVONA (Blyth, '00): pinkish orchid self
BUBBLES GALORE (Ghio, '02): white self
CHARLESTON (Keppel, '02): blue-violet on white plic
EXPOSE' (Ghio, '04): S. white, F. Blue spray pattern
on white, yellow hafts
IMPULSIVE (Ghio, '01): S. yellow, F. tangerine
IN LOVE AGAIN (Keppel, '04): pink - vigorous, but not
as vigorous as HAPPENSTANCE
As I have about an equal number of cultivars from each
of these hybridizers, it looks like its harder to find
really vigorous ones from B. Blyth. DECADENCE has been
a disappointment and WHO's YOUR DADDY flat out died.
