Linda to Linda,
And to reply to myself-- since I've been on and off this computer today -
while trying to get the 50 Historic's I got from Cher buried-
I'm in the middle of making a data base for the iris we grow here (up to 700
w only 8 people reporting in at this point) AND starting a new club -so had
a brainstorm--amongst it all---that's the way my mind works.--::::::::::::
WE do have 3 reported RE- (All in Prescott)--Autumn Wine and Over and Over
have been added to our little list---so making headway. At least it's
something.
With this part of AZ becoming wine country- what are the thoughts pros and
cons of growing iris w grapes. Seems like a plan to me (but I know nothing
about growing grapes). Now if I can convince all the wine growers around
here to grow a clump of iris under their grapes --looks like to me a double
winner. (Since I mention you going to Plan Z). Gives the iris some shade in
summer and they do their thing, when the grapes are just beginning to bud.
These wineries, in general, are located on our trickle of streams here w
irrigation rights.
Since I don't see why this county (Yavapi) can't grow just about ever kind
of iris made??
Wouldn't it be neat if the desert grew every iris known except for JI??
If you thought the names Cheryl Deaton gives her iris are off the charts,
what does anyone think of this.
Everyone really should know how Cheryl names her iris. It's not as bazaar as
the name sounds.
She really does have a reason behind the names.
