Anyone
interested in the subject can speak to Dorothy Stiefel about a back issue
of
ROOTS containing same. There may be copies of the book still available. It
contains the essay with full notes and documentation, and facsimile copies
of
both editions of the Manual.

Indeed there ARE copies of the book available, as well as copies of EVERY
issue of ROOTS. It is interesting that this topic should come up today, as I
have my copy of the Omnibus at hand from working on a list of HIPS Publications
for Sale last night. I found myself busily reading parts of the book again
instead of working on the list. It is a fascinating account of a remarkable man
and also sheds much light on the conditions in Nebraska (then the primitive
western U.S.) in the late 1800's.

The book sells for $25.00. Black & white ROOTS issues are $4.00 each, while
the newer issues with color are priced at $7.00.
