Re: HYB: What i got with MTBs

Hah!

You know how that goes - it's only easy when it's <not> what you were looking for :-)

<so happy you're saying it's going to be easy! I like it easy sometimes!>

It hasn't been "the plan", but at least I'm not going to automatically discard the ones like that.

I have a few seedlings I've kept from a cross of an unknown variegata X HARVEST OF MEMORIES that don't have modern form, but otherwise fit the bill. Quite tall, very wiry stalks, smallish blooms, very pretty effect in the garden, but bud count isn't very high, so bloom seems sparse. Will try to get a good photo next spring, assuming we don't have another spring as damaging as this last one!!

Also, there were three short stalked, small flowered rebloomers with nice form but not much substance that showed up from an experimental "junk" cross. They showed maiden bloom in the fall tho, and as Chuck says, may never fall bloom again. But I will keep them, at least for awhile. And might experiment a little in that direction.

But for now, I'm mostly still chasing the goal of really healthy TBs for this kind of climate (erratic, hot, dry, wet, cold, heavy persistent dew/rain).

<So, are you going to daub pollen on/from smaller flowered and thinner stalked ones too?>
