Immortality X Matrix gave one cycle rebloomer out of 10 surviving seedlings. I was surprised by that.
Matrix is a very reliable early fall cycle rebloomer here, and has produced one (unreliable) August (late summer) seedling in a cross with Tea Leaves. Only two surviving seedlings from Matrix X Tea Leaves, so I repeated the cross last year, too soon to get more numbers.
But having gotten one seedling that bloomed here in Aug from Matrix, I expected to see some Aug bloom from Imm X Matrix, but no.
Bigger surprise is Immortality X Renown. Renown occasionally cycle reblooms here (usually right before freeze - Oct), but isn't reliable, and rarely produces rebloom children in my growing conditions.
Of three surviving seedlings, one maiden bloomed Sept 2, 2013 and a second one is blooming now, Sept 7, 2014. Haven't checked for stalks on the other two.
Immortality hasn't been blooming much this summer, started up about a week ago, so now I'm thinking Renown may match the IMM rebloom genes better than Matrix does.
If Chuck's theory that 'summer' (i.e., August) rebloom genes are recessive, and if these Renown seedlings are 'summer' bloomers like IMM, numbers are way too small, but enough evidence to speculate that Renown might carry 3 copies of summer.
