I've noticed many of those who have been having their films processed and
receiving the 'digitized' disks have been identifying them as C-Ds..They're
really 3 1/2 inch disks. Gee, I wish I could get my photos on a C-D for only
$3.99...
The DISKs are processed in your choce of either of two formats - PC or MAC.
The company (KONICA) advertises it as the "Picture Show". Many Drug stores
now handle this process... ( and you can still get double prints, too.... )
We use this digitized processing quite a bit and can speak highly of the
results. They are NOT designed to compete with the professional Digitized
houses which have much higher quality - but usually charge $20 - 40+ for each
photo....
When we drove across country to the AIS Nat'l convention in Sacramento - we
took loads of photos.. we had them all 'digitized' .. Never did see the results,
'tho... - I tossed out the disks with the envelopes the photos came
in. Oh well -- we still have the photos and we did enjoy the trip......
Meanwhile - we still use this process a lot - and we find it more than adequate
for our purpose ... Correspondence - Computer ' Wallpaper ' - sharing garden
views over the 'net' - (BMP) - etc...
We also have "Snappy" but have really not used it, yet.. But, I've seen
excellent results using it... (friends of ours used Snappy to produce a
complete iris catalog - taken from their own cam-corder video shots...
