>Mice are something else and a
real problem most everywhere. I used Wsrfin in its pelleted form and to
keep our cats and dog from making a final meal from it I put it in a steel
pipe. I had some old 1 1/2" on hand and cut it into short lenghts about 14"
long. Plug one end with a block of wood driven in and then cut off close to
the steel so it cannot be wiggled out The other end is left open for the
mouse to enter. ......
I am glad to see that Bruce gave good instructions on the use of rat poison.
I had a neighbor use it irresponsibly, and my cat came home in her death
throes. Not a pleasant experience. Some time afterwards my dog had the
same symptoms (weakness, trembling, excessive drooling) and we rushed him to
the vet, where treatment with Vit. K restored him to health - luckily he was
young, large, and vigorous. PLEASE be careful if you choose to use this
type of product.
This is an odd topic to de-lurk on, but I'm a novice with irises and don't
have much to contribute ordinarily! I do enjoy the list tremendously.
