Louisiana Irises

This lady just got back from a FABULOUS Judges Training program on Louisiana
Irises given by our very own DENNIS STONEBURNER, of Iris-L. I highly
recommend him to anyone who is looking for an in-depth program that's not
only informative, but entertaining. I'm astonished by the variety of LIs...
I'm impressed by the forms... and I'm educated about the cultural
requirements (which should be a piece of cake today since my back yard is
happily flooding... again.)

Louisianas need plenty of water - in fact can be grown IN the water, acidy
conditions and that's about it. We saw some cultivars from a hybridizer in
Australia named Taylor that were breathtaking! And some from stateside that
are not too shabby either.

Dennis fits in with the weenies very well and we'll hate to see him go. As I
left, Carolyn was taking him for a whirlwind tour of the Botanical Gardens
(where we had our judges training).

So, in one short year, we've had Dennis, Clarence and Kevin all visit from
VA. There's probably a message there. By the way, Clarence, Anna was "blown
away" by your kind wishes.
