This is sort of off-topic but it will help many of you....

PLEASE let your grandchildren know what to get you for Christmas!  Older
folks are inscrutable to children; older folks seem to already have
everything in the world... older folks say "Holidays are for kids, don't
bother getting me anything..."  but those kiddos so want to please you!
There's nothing like the relief of scratching a grandparent's name off
the Christmas list because you found the perfect gift.  (Well, unless
it's scratching a male's name off because they are hard to buy for too
unless they are under 12 ;-))....

I received a big batch of Cooley's iris which will go into the ground
this weekend.  It will be a bit nippy here at 75/55 F!  but will warm
quickly back up into the upper 80's by mid-week.  Funny thing is, the
"extras" (Thai Orange and No. Bikini Atoll) are HUGE compared to the
regular purchases!  I would have figgered it the other way round.
