I regularly try growing perennials that are hardy (according to
catalogs) to one or two zones above me...if I really like the flower, I'll
try it. Sometimes I lose them but I plant from seed a lot and that *may*
help me....I also try to plant them with some protection from our blasted
frigid wind and of course, mulch with my trusted pine needles. I would esti-
mate I have 60% success with plants marked *hardy* to Zone 4.
