PCI Seed Supplier

I received a very friendly welcome letter from the SPCNI (Society for
Pacific Coast Native Iris) secretary today. In the letter a source for PCNI
seeds was mentioned - Bayview Gardens in Santa Cruz, California. Anyone
have any experience with these folks? My letter indicated that I could send
$1.50 to them for a "really great seed mix of PCNI's". Does anyone know if
this price includes shipping? Will they send just a single packet of seeds?

Lucky me, my local county library had a copy of World of Irises! Hopefully,
I can devour this book in the three weeks that I have it in my posession.
Time to turn on that photographic memory, or better yet, order my own copy
for this Winter so that I don't get so stir crazy waiting for Spring bloom
that I get into IRIS-L disagreements over the pronunciation of iris species
names. :) :)

My two cents on IRIS-L "naysayers":

I must add that I'm sorry to see that a few individuals have become
disenchanted with the IRIS-L. I've thoroughly enjoyed the IRIS-L since I
joined the list back in the late winter of this year. I really must say
that I appreciate the willingness and patience of IRIS-L and irisarian
veterans in repeating the answers to frequently asked questions (FAQ's) with
sincerity for each newcomer to the list. Although many of the FAQ's are
answered through FAQ postings on web sites and through the IRIS-L archives,
most new irisarians long for interaction and conversation on the topic of
irises with others who share their fascination with irises. I hope the
IRIS-L continues to encourage iris beginners like myself and allows vintage
irisarians like ____________ (insert name of anyone on the list with a date
of birth before mine) to pass on their experience and humor to the next
generation of iris addicts.

IMHO, I don't think the list would be very enjoyable for me or other
irisarians if it were all factual and "cut and dried" (no pun intended for
you people trying to preserve iris flowers). :)
