Hi John,
Thanks for telling me about the option to get a specific day's
digest, but what I would like is to get the list automatically in
digest form only. Several of the other lists I'm on are like that and
you send the message to the server: "set digest."

Actually the welcome message doesn't tell you how to retrieve a
specific days digest, but it is easy: Send to:
listserv@rt66.com
a message that says only
GET IRIS-L <YYMMDD> where YY is year - e.g., 96, MM is month
