There are lots of New Jersey iris people. NJ, with Staten Island, NY, is

I judged an iris show at Princeton, NJ this past May, and Joe Griner is
coming down to Beltsville, MD (at Beinke's Nursery) to judge our local fall
iris show on Oct 19th (next month). Give Joe a call and he will be glad to
let you know what is going on in NJ...you might even want to come down to our
fall iris show...it only takes a bit over two hours from Trenton. Clarence
