And now I realize I don't know how legal/illegal or advisable/inadvisable
bringing (or trying to bring!) a pot of irises across the border is. Can
anyone comment?

Many of the Canadians are coming to the talk by Dennis Stoneburner
(9/28/96 @ 1 PM, write for details) and they will be able to view slides
of LA's and learn about culture of LA's. Your pots of LA's would be most
welcome at this meeting if you don't want to/ are unable to get them
across the border.
