Root Cutting



I cut them back to about 5 inches.  Leave at least enough to use for anchoring
the rhizome in the soil.  They'll develop new roots to hold them in place and
carry them through the winter...   

For large rhizomes and taller (heavier) foilage - some people lay a some weight
(small stone) on the top of the rhizome to hold it in place while the roots are
developing... (Also can prevent heaving later on)..
