I understand that Cygon is a derivative of ' Agent Orange'... - a warfare
chemical used in Asia to remove foliage to expose the enemy ? I could be
wrong..
Just the smell alone makes it appear extremely dangerous..
When I took my IPM course - we were told that - if the plant you intend to use
on was NOT listed on the label - one should NOT use it... How many labels to
you read where IRIS is listed ? Not many, if any .
I use Cygon, too.. (but, only when the foliage is 4-5 " high)..

Has anyone seen iris blossoms after a very slight exposure to Round-Up ? Some
irisarians - not remembering that they did some Round-Up'g - think they have a
new class of iris - or whatever.. It does strange things to blooms... One has
to remember the unusual condition of the bloom was possibly due to fact that
round-up was used close by.. One gardener, I know, was thinking of registering
an iris with this unique condition.. I must admit it did look quite different -
but everyone recognized the results of Round-Up.
Those attending AIS Nat'l Conventions can also see the results of this
quick 'cleanup' method prior to garden visitors, etc...
