We seem to have a trend here, most of us irisarians were born in the winter
months, Dec/Jan especially. My daddy was a happy man when my mom announced
she was ready to go to the hospital from the New Years Eve Party, and had me
before midnight. He didnt make it, but he passed out cigars the next morning.
I turned 40 on the ice in Antarctica this last New Years eve... quiet and
small, no irises even. I keep thinking I'm still young, till I look in the
mirror, but my 15 yo daughter says I'm still 'WAY COOL, MOM', so I guess I'm
still young where it counts: working in the garden, raising kids, riding
Harleys (I find I have no patience at all for the new "rich young kids with
more money than sense who wanna be instant bikers" these days, it sure was
different when I started riding... gee is my age showing???) and enjoying
each and every day God gives me.
I for one think that I would much rather sit with a group of our older (60+)
irisarians than a bunch of 20 yo's. May we all have their wisdom at that
age. Kudos to all who may be older and wiser. What ever happened to
respect for ones' elders??? Maybe thats what happened in the schools???
Still young and crazy after all these years,
