Sorry I have been so long getting back to you but have been off line for a
few days and the messages come in at 20+ a day. I. versicolor seed is a
little like a thick pancake - that is it is some 5mm across and about 3-4 mm
thick. This is for well dried seed. In the pod they are stacked up and
compressed to completely fill the pod and this accounts for the flattened
shape - if more space I suspect they would just be round balls. Old seed is
a bit wrinkled too as compared to fresh seed, which is a bit larger and
smooth sided. My species samples are 30 years old.
A question like this is a proper one for the entire List as it applies to
everyone. I intend to answer all of this nature on the general list but do
not mind anything of a personal nature being sent to my Email address. They
all come in on the same line and I am the only one using this computer.
