since the weather and basic culture will be different there than in the
East, I can only give you general guidelines. WATER - new plants, lots
for the 1st couple of weeks while they get set. Mulch will help keep
them wet. Established plants - before bloom (4-6 weeks) they need extra
water and fertilizer, I would say good a soaking 1-2 times per week.
After bloom, don't let them dry out and go dormant. The next main water
time is in the fall as they are putting on their second growth spurt.
Remember, this is East Coast culture.
Feeding - Miracid is very good - plenty of good acid humus is excellent.
I use the 2 liter plastic bottle feeding method 4-6 weekd before bloom
using Miracid.
The main thing to remember - your plants will tell you what is going on.
They will grow tall and green if they are happy. The bloom will be
strong and color good. It might take a year or two to find out what
works. Keep good notes.
hope that helps.
