re: la's & rain/historic purples

This purple sounds like either Eleanor Roosevelt or Black Magic.  Per the
Reblooming Checklist Eleanor Roosevelt reblooms and Black Magic does not.
 For many these iris are very had to tell apart.  I grow them both and either
would fit your description.
