yes. DEADLINE works great around hostas.
I would also say not to over crowd the iris plants/clumps. plenty of
space. BTW - those rhizomes covered with soil, will eventually be
uncovered with soil. (unless you plant them really deep.) Also might
try spreading lime - heck just throw it all over the TB bed, make it look
like it snowed. I have done this to help absorb excess moisture, and rid
bad things from the garden.....those TB's are worth it...right!!!!!
