It might have to do with the Depression and hard times, but regionally people
eat a lot of odd wild vegetable--and animal --matter, and it sounds like she
was knoshing it for pleasure? Does anyone have any idea what the binomial
for this plant is? I don't know anything about it and I would like to look it
up.
